Our Owner
Albert Hepp, founder and CEO of BuySelf, has dedicated his career to making real estate more affordable, transparent, and consumer-driven. With over 30 years in the industry, he is a licensed real estate broker, a recognized authority on real estate practices, and a trusted advocate for buyers and sellers looking to save money.
In 1998, Albert launched BuySelf with a groundbreaking vision: to empower consumers with the same tools as traditional agents—without the high commissions. His expertise in flat-fee MLS listings has helped thousands of homeowners take control of their sales while saving significant costs.
However, BuySelf’s success wasn’t without challenges. Traditional agents attempted to block flat-fee MLS listings, but Albert led the fight for consumer choice. Partnering with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), and key advocacy groups, he played a pivotal role in shaping real estate policy. In 2008, he was a key witness in a landmark case that forced Realtor Associations to allow flat-fee MLS listings, setting a legal precedent that continues to benefit homeowners today.
Beyond legal battles, Albert has held multiple leadership roles within Realtor Associations, actively working to improve industry transparency and protect consumer rights. His advocacy has made it easier for homeowners nationwide to sell their homes without excessive commissions—solidifying BuySelf’s position as a leader in real estate innovation.
